On Sunday morning October 2nd- Betty Clouse (96) went home to be with our Lord. She was born January 3rd, 1920 on a farm near Boone,NC to William and Molly Wilson. She grew up with her two brothers and three sisters, then graduated from Bethel High School in 1939 with honors. Elizabeth’s parents lived by faith in God and drew strength and encouragement from each other. She married Kenneth B. Clouse on July 12th, 1940 in Gaffney, SC. They lived in Knoxville, TN where Kenneth worked as a mechanic for Kessler Construction. Kenneth’s work brought them to Janesville, WI in 1946. Betty worked for Glenoit Mills for 14 years. Later she worked for Owen Vending. She bowled locally for years. She joined First Baptist Church Janesville in 1952 where she was active in the Women’s Ministries, delivering sermon tapes to those who could not attend, and held various positions. She retired in 2009 from the visitation committee after decades of service. She was still faithful in His service, teaching a Bible study for her fellow residents at Edgerton Care Center. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family. They also toured with Bank One and Van Galder Bus line trips. She is survived by her sons; William Eugene of Edgerton Long Term Care Hospital, Kenneth (Sandy) Clouse of Mountain City, TN and Daughter-in-law Lorelei Clouse of Janesville. She is survived by her sister Hazel Day of Cary, NC. Her grandchildren Paul (Jen) Clouse, Rick (Dawn) Laws, Dawn (Mike) Walls and Lisa (Alvin) Revels. Her great-grandchildren Jaryd & Kayleen Walls, Brody & Jordan Laws, Crosby & Marlowe Clouse, Dustyn, Garrett Revels, Jon (Tori), & Spike, Dustyn (Kate) Carroll. Her great-great-grandchildren Bentley Walls, Jayden Carroll and many loved nieces & nephews. She was predeased by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth, her son Marshall, her grandsons Bradley & Brian Clouse and great grandson Gregory Walls. As well as her 2 brothers, 2 sisters and her parents. Visitation will be Thursday, October 6th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville from 5-7pm. Friday October 7th, there will be a short visitation at 10am followed by service at 10:30am at First Baptist Church 3414 Woodhall Drive, Janesville. Memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church Janesville. We wish to thank the visitation committee from First Baptist for their many visits, cards, and encouragement.
